From today, PM Narendra Modi will start his campaign for the Lok Sabha elections expected in early 2024. In this campaign, PM Modi will visit five states – Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, West Bengal and Bihar from March 4th to 6th. The Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for many development projects worth Rs 1.1 lakh crore. The visits to these opposition-ruled states just before the election dates clearly show the strategic efforts for 2024 general elections.

Day 1: March 4th – Telangana and Tamil Nadu

On the first day, March 4th, PM Modi’s first visit will be to Telangana, where he will inaugurate development projects related to power, rail and road sectors worth Rs 56,000 crore in Adilabad. The main highlight is the the inaugration of the 800 MW unit of the Telangana Super Power Project, which will provide 85% of its power to the state.

He will also virtually inaugurate thermal power plants and solar parks in other states during the Adilabad event. Later that day, PM Modi will visit ‘Kalpakkam’ in Tamil Nadu, where he will participate in an event marking an important milestone for India’s nuclear power program. The core loading will begin for the country’s first indigenous Prototype Fast Breeder Reactor.

Day 2: March 5th – Telangana and Odisha

On the second day, March 5th, PM Modi will again be in Telangana, where he will unveil projects worth Rs 6,800 crore in Sangareddy. On the same day, he will also inaugurate several projects worth Rs 19,600 croce in Odisha’s Chandikhole. These projects are for boosting the oil, infrastructure and gas sectors.

Day 3: March 6th – West Bengal and Bihar

On the third day, March 6th, PM Modi will come to West Bengal, where he will inaugurate connectivity projects in Kolkata worth Rs 15,400 crore. This includes sections of the Kolkata Metro and Agra Metro among others, which he will virtually flag off.

The Prime Minister will then go to Bihar on the same day, where projects worth Rs 12,800 crore will be launched by him in Bettiah. A major highlight is the “Motihari-Muzaffarpur LPG Pipeline” project.

In total, during the 5-state tour, projects worth over Rs 1.1 lakh crore will be unveiled by PM Modi covering a wide range including power, rail, road, petroleum, aviation and other infrastructure areas.

The power sector sees the inauguration of many key projects – units of thermal power plants, solar parks, ethanol and hydrogen plants, power transmission networks etc.
