In a big move, MS Dhoni, the famous captain of CSK has handed over the captaincy to Ruturaj Gaikwad before IPL 2024.
Dhoni was the captain of CSK for 235 out of 249 games across all competitions, leading the team to five IPL titles and two Champions League T20 wins.
With 1797 runs from 52 matches at an average of 39.06 and a strike rate of 135.52, Gaikwad is currently CSK's seventh-highest run-scorer.
MS Dhoni, who retired from international cricket after the 2019 World Cup, is expected to retire from IPL at the end of the 2024 season.
